Starlink is SpaceX's low Earth orbit internet network — thousands of small satellites flying roughly 550 km overhead, circling the planet once every 90 minutes or so. Because they orbit so low, each satellite only covers a small patch of sky at a time and moves fast enough to cross from horizon to horizon in a few minutes. That is why the constellation needs so many satellites, and why there is almost always at least one passing above you right now.
